Crossroads GPS Launches New Ad in Indiana District Spotlighting Obamacare’s Destruction of 40-Hour Work Week

New $20,000 online ad promoting Cong. Larry Bucschon (R-IA-8)’s Save American Workers Act is part of broader GPS initiative promoting aggressive action against Obamacare’s flaws.

WASHINGTON – Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies (GPS) today launched a new online ad promoting legislation co-sponsored by Cong. Larry Bucschon (R-IA-8), the Save American Workers Act, which rescues the 40-hour work week from Obamacare’s destructive mandate on employers of full-time workers.

The ad will run for two weeks online, in both 15- and 30-second versions, in Indiana’s 8th congressional district, as a “pre-roll” ad on video sharing sites and on Facebook for two weeks. The total advertising buy is $20,000.

The :15 version can be viewed here, and the :30 version can be viewed here. High resolution versions are available upon request.

“Even unions agree that Obamacare is destroying the 40-hour work week, with daily reports of employers moving workers from full-time to part-time,” said Crossroads GPS president and CEO Steven Law. “President Obama’s administrative ‘delay’ isn’t undoing the damage to workers, and that’s why we need champions like Dr. Bucshon to lead the fight in dismantling Obamacare. People in Indiana need to be aware of this legislation and his leadership on this issues.”

The new ad initiative is part of a continuing research and communications effort by Crossroads GPS to educate Americans on how Obamacare is hurting workers, families and the elderly, and to encourage Congress to “dismantle Obamacare piece by piece.”  In June, Crossroads GPS released a wide-ranging poll analyzing public attitudes on Obamacare and revealing strong support for aggressive action against the law. Prior to the August congressional recess, GPS released an educational video for lawmakers to share with constituents in town hall meetings.

The Internal Revenue Service last year effectively defined “full-time” work as 30 hours per week for the purposes of Obamacare, which requires businesses with 50 or more employees working more than 30 hours to provide health insurance to those employees. Buschon and others in the U.S. House introduced the Save American Workers (SAW) Act in June to repeal Obamacare’s definition of full-time employment as 30 hours per week, and restore the 40-hour workweek.

Crossroads GPS is a policy and grassroots advocacy organization that is committed to educating, equipping and mobilizing millions of American citizens to take action on the critical economic and legislative issues that will shape our nation’s future.
