Wikicountability.org/Crossroads GPS File FOIA Request with the Department of Energy on embattled energy firm Solyndra

Request seeks details on Obama officials’ contacts with Solyndra, participation in board meetings

WASHINGTON – Wikicountability.org, a project of Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies (Crossroads GPS), today filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to obtain information about the Obama Administration’s level of involvement with embattled “green jobs” firm Solyndra.  Recent news reports have indicated that Obama Administration officials were present at one or more Solyndra board meetings and may have had access to information about the company’s finances.

Wikicountability’s FOIA request includes the following key document requests:

  1. All communications between DOE and Solyndra, including correspondence related to board meetings;
  2. Meeting notes, minutes, outlines, and memoranda in DOE’s possession that relate to Solyndra board meetings;
  3. All schedules and calendars maintained by DOE officials that reference Solyndra;
  4. All meeting notes, minutes, outlines and memoranda in DOE’s possession that refer to meetings with George B. Kaiser, the chairman of BOK Financial Corporation.

“With President Obama asking Americans to entrust him with even more stimulus spending, we need to find out who inside the Administration knew what was going on at Solyndra and why taxpayers were left holding the bag,” said Steven Law, president of Crossroads GPS.
