Boswell Fails to Explain Support for Obama Stimulus Packages

Leonard Boswell responds to Crossroads GPS TV ad without answering Iowans’ questions

WASHINGTON – Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies (GPS) issued the following statement after Rep. Leonard Boswell failed to explain to Iowans his support for President Obama’s stimulus spending packages.  Boswell issued a statement about the new Crossroads GPS issue ad, “Peas,” which today began airing in Des Moines, IA and Omaha, NE markets.

“Despite the flowery statements pouring out from Leonard Boswell and the Iowa Democratic Party, Leonard Boswell fails to explain why he voted to waste $830 billion on Obama’s first stimulus bill and now enthusiastically supports another round of stimulus spending tied to a $450 billion tax hike,” said Nate Hodson, Crossroads GPS director of state and regional media relations.  “Iowans deserve to know why Leonard Boswell continues supporting Obama’s failed policies which waste taxpayer dollars without creating jobs.”

The issue ad will air over the next two weeks for a total buy of $160,000.  The spot urges Iowans to contact Rep. Leonard Boswell to tell him they oppose his support for President Obama’s second round of stimulus spending.  The ad can be viewed here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IF1h_Twyg2Y
