Crossroads GPS Statement on Unemployment Report, Increased Unemployment Rate

WASHINGTON – Crossroads GPS released the statement below in response to today’s July unemployment report issued by the U.S. Department of Labor:

“America is awakening to the reality that President Obama and his policies are responsible for the worst economic recovery in history,” said Crossroads GPS communications director Jonathan Collegio. “President Obama tried to turn the economy around through increased spending, new debt, and tax increases, and these strategies have failed, with unemployment up to 8.3% this month and above 8% for more than three years. It is time to empower the private sector and business owners by lowering and stabilizing tax rates, reining in debt, cutting regulations, and freeing up energy production – all part of the Crossroads GPS New Majority Agenda.”

Crossroads GPS is a policy and grassroots advocacy organization that is committed to educating, equipping and mobilizing millions of American citizens to take action on the critical economic and legislative issues that will shape our nation’s future.
