Crossroads GPS Launches TV Issue Ad in Alaska Demanding Accountability for Failed Veterans Care

New ad spotlights VA scandal and legislation to shake up the department and enforce accountability

ANCHORAGE – Today, Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies (Crossroads GPS) launched a new issue advocacy ad in Alaska urging action on legislation that would strengthen accountability at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in the wake of the unfolding scandal over veterans’ deaths and inadequate care.

The new ad will air in Alaska for one week starting on Wednesday, May 28.  The total for the buy is $450,000 and the spot can be viewed here.

“The unfolding scandal at the VA is a national disgrace,” said Art Hackney, an Alaska-based strategist for Crossroads GPS. “Mark Begich has had responsibility for overseeing VA health care for years, so it’s not enough for him to pass the buck or have another hearing. Now that he and his colleagues in leadership are blocking bipartisan legislation to shake up the VA, he needs to take real responsibility for cleaning up the disaster.”

A high resolution download of the ad is available upon request.

Crossroads GPS is a policy and grassroots advocacy organization that is committed to educating, equipping and mobilizing millions of American citizens to take action on the critical economic and legislative issues that will shape our nation’s future in the years ahead.
