New Ad Spotlights VA Scandal and Urges Congressman Bruce Braley to Support Legislation Giving Veterans the Timely Healthcare They Deserve

WASHINGTON – Today, Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies (Crossroads GPS) launched a new issue advocacy ad in Iowa urging action on legislation that would ensure timely access for veterans seeking hospital care and medical services from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

The new ad will air in Iowa for one week starting on Wednesday, August 6.  The total for the buy is $345,000 and the spot can be viewed here.

“The unfolding scandal at the VA is a national disgrace and Iowans deserve to know what their elected leaders in Washington are doing about it,” said Paul Lindsay, communications director for Crossroads GPS. “Congressman Bruce Braley says he fights for veterans, but he missed key hearings of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee. Iowans have a right to call Congressman Braley and tell him to support this legislation to get veterans the timely healthcare they need.”

“Call Senator Pryor. Tell Him to Protect our Medicare by Repealing Obamacare.”

“Arkansas seniors rely on Medicare, but elected leaders in Washington are threatening the future of the program,” said Paul Lindsay, communications director for Crossroads GPS. “Senator Pryor says he wants to protect these benefits, but his deciding vote in favor of Obamacare cut Medicare by more than $700 billion. It’s time for Arkansans to tell Washington to protect Medicare by repealing Obamacare.”

Focuses on Massive Debt and the Need for a Balance Budget Amendment

WASHINGTON – Today, Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies (Crossroads GPS) announced a new TV issue ad highlighting the massive government spending in Washington that has put our country more than seventeen trillion dollars in debt.

The new ad will air in North Carolina starting on July 24 as part of a total buy of $3,550,000 that started in late May.  The spot can be viewed here.

“While North Carolina families are tightening their belts, lawmakers in Washington are putting our country deeper in debt and forcing future generations to shoulder the cost,” said Paul Lindsay, communications director for Crossroads GPS. “Senator Hagan has said we can’t continue down this road, but her votes to raise the debt limit and oppose a balanced budget amendment are making things worse. It’s time for North Carolinians to tell Washington to balance the budget.”

Spot Urges Senator Mark Udall to Stop the “Energy Squeeze” on Colorado’s Middle Class

WASHINGTON – Today, Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies (Crossroads GPS) launched an issue advocacy ad spotlighting energy issues affecting Colorado’s economy and urging Senator Mark Udall to support policies that will “stop the squeeze on Colorado’s middle class.”

The new spot, which can be viewed here, will air in Colorado Springs and Denver for a total buy of $460,000 beginning on July 22.

“Whether it is a carbon tax that would lead to higher electricity prices or the construction of the job-creating Keystone pipeline, it’s important that Coloradans have an opportunity to speak out about America’s energy economy,” said Crossroads GPS communications director Paul Lindsay. “Senator Udall has not always been willing to speak publicly about these issues, but his voting record on energy policy is putting a squeeze on Colorado’s middle class. To stop this squeeze on Colorado’s middle class, this ad urges Senator Udall to support construction of the Keystone Pipeline and S. 2414.”

New Spot Urges Senator Mark Udall to “Support Keystone and Create Jobs.”

WASHINGTON – Today, Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies (Crossroads GPS) launched an issue advocacy ad spotlighting energy issues affecting Colorado’s economy and urging Senator Mark Udall to support construction of the Keystone XL pipeline.

The new spot “Good Start,” which can be viewed here, will air in Denver for a total buy of $460,000 beginning on July 8.

“Senator Udall calls recent proposed regulations on American energy a ‘good start,’ but a better start would be for him to support construction of the Keystone XL pipeline and the over forty thousand jobs that would come with it,” said Crossroads GPS communications director Paul Lindsay. “These issues affect middle-class Coloradans, and our ad gives them the opportunity to learn how to make their voices heard.”

“Tell Mark Pryor: Arkansas Families Can’t Afford Obamacare. Repeal It”

WASHINGTON – Today, Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies (Crossroads GPS) announced a new issue ad that highlights how Arkansas families are struggling with higher premiums and Medicare cuts that are part of Obamacare.

The new spot, which can be viewed here, will air in Arkansas for a total buy of over $435,000 starting on Tuesday, July 8.

“It’s bad enough that Arkansas families are struggling with the higher costs of Obamacare, but Senator Pryor and Washington politicians added insult to injury when they voted to allow taxpayer-funded subsidies for themselves,” said Paul Lindsay, communications director for Crossroads GPS. “Since Pryor was a deciding vote for Obamacare, Arkansans should let him know they oppose it.”

Senator Kay Hagan Claimed Obamacare Would Benefit Small Businesses But the Opposite Has Occurred

WASHINGTON – Today, Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies (Crossroads GPS) announced a new issue ad that will run for one week on TV highlighting the devastating effect Obamacare is having on North Carolina small businesses.

The new ad will air in North Carolina as part of a total buy of $3,550,000 that started on Tuesday, May 20.  The spot can be viewed here.

“North Carolina’s small businesses are struggling under Obamacare’s regulations and rising costs,” said Paul Lindsay, communications director for Crossroads GPS. “Since Senator Hagan cast the deciding vote for the law, she should be at the forefront in reversing the devastating consequences it is inflicting on North Carolina families.”

New ad spotlights promise made by President Obama and Senator Mark Pryor in order to pass Obamacare

WASHINGTON – Today, Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies (Crossroads GPS) announced a new issue ad that highlights the deception carried out by federal elected officials in order to pass Obamacare. The new ad will air in Arkansas for a total buy of $440,000 starting on Friday, June 13.

The spot spotlights the promise made by President Obama and Mark Pryor in order to pass Obamacare: a promise that Arkansans could keep their healthcare plan if they liked it.

“Not only did these promises from Barack Obama and Mark Pryor turn out to be false, they had devastating policy consequences for Arkansans,” said Paul Lindsay, communications director for Crossroads GPS. “Judging from Senator Mark Pryor’s positive comments about Obamacare as a ‘success story,’ it’s clear that he may benefit in hearing from Arkansas families and seniors who don’t see it that way. We hope this ad continues the serious debate about the effects that Obamacare is having on small businesses and families throughout the state.”

New ad also spotlights Hagan’s vote to pass Obamacare, resulting in massive cuts to Medicare

WASHINGTON – Today, Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies (Crossroads GPS) announced a new issue ad that will run for one week on TV highlighting the devastating effect Obamacare is having on North Carolina seniors and urges its repeal.

The new ad will air in North Carolina as part of a total buy of $3,550,000 that started on Tuesday, May 20.  The spot can be viewed here.

“Kay Hagan and Barack Obama made an explicit promise to North Carolinians in order to pass Obamacare, and seniors were hit hardest by their deception,” said Paul Lindsay, communications director for Crossroads GPS. “Hagan’s full-throated defense of Obamacare comes at the expense of the thousands of North Carolina seniors who now face cuts to their Medicare.”

WASHINGTON – Crossroads GPS president & CEO Steven Law today issued the following statement regarding Secretary Shinseki’s resignation and current legislation that would strengthen accountability at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA):

“Shinseki’s resignation is appropriate but is only 1% of the solution.  The VA’s leaders urgently need the management tools which the VA Management and Accountability Act would give them.  Crossroads GPS will continue to put pressure on Democratic Senators to reject Harry Reid’s foolish blockade of bipartisan Republican-crafted legislation to shake up the VA.  This is not about politics; it’s about doing what’s right to clean up President Obama’s latest and most egregious management fiasco.”

NOTE: Crossroads GPS is running an issue advocacy ad on TV in Alaska urging action on the VA Management and Accountability Act. The spot can be viewed here.
